Empowering you and your team

We love that the advent of cloud accounting means our clients are getting actively involved in the software.

We’re also hearing anxieties around this. ‘What happens if I make a mistake?’, ‘How do I know how much I’ve spent?’ ‘How do I do this?’

That’s understandable. For years accounting software has been a mystery – and finance full of jargon and incomprehensible accounting conventions.

The world of finance is changing – and fast. We’re supporting our clients – whether that be on a one to one basis, through video walk-throughs or at one of our regular events.

Join the Accountability network and we’ll make sure you and your staff get access to the training and support they need to understand the numbers.

Simplify your Payroll and Bill Payments with Modulr

We work with Modulr - a great tool which can be used to free up our clients from making individual payments at the bank - either on a desktop or by phone.

Instead, the values to be paid and also beneficiary bank details can be picked up as one batch payment. All you need to do is send an amount to Modulr to cover the payment - and from there, either you approve the payment, or we will on instruction from you.

We have found that Modulr really saves our clients time. It also means that the risk of errors arising from mis-keyed values whilst making single bank payments is avoided. Modulr has allowed us the opportunity to offer a real end to end service for processing supplier payments or completing payroll for you.

Register here for our webinar with the Modulr team - we will demonstrate how this may work for you.

Securing Funding for your business

Through our partnership with Swoop, we can give SMEs access to funding across grants, borrowing and equity.

If your business needs funding and you don’t know where to start - or have hit a brick wall - we will point you in the right direction.

Join us on a webinar with Swoop on Tuesday 23rd July at 11:30am.

Manage Your Cashflow with Float

Many of our clients have been feeling the squeeze. You may be hoping to support staff with cost of living increases, looking to take on new members of the team or maybe you are trying to decide if you need new premises. Looking at your bank balance isn’t going to give you the answers you need. To plan effectively for the short term, we highly recommend looking at Float to help with cashflow forecasting. It’s an intuitive tool and integrates beautifully with Xero.

Join Rosie and the Float team for an overview of how to manage cashflow using Float. We’ll discuss best practice, some simple tips and give an overview of Float Projects which is ideal for design agencies, construction companies or any client working on a job-by-job basis to help manage cashflow more easily.

This session will be of benefit to those not yet using Float but concerned about cashflow, as well as those who use Float but could do with some tips and an update on how the software is developing. Join us on Zoom at 2pm on Tuesday, 29th November.

Holiday Pay for Casual and Atypical Workers

introducing Ergo Law - founded in 2016 by Cathy Donald and Emma Reid, Ergo Law is a specialist employment law firm based in Edinburgh. Now with a team of 6, Ergo Law is a firm with compassion and spirit, providing high quality legal advice for employees and SMEs alike. We have a highly practical knowledge of, and insight into, the world of work and enjoy supporting our clients with advice which is compassionate, practical and knowledgeable. We are skilled at untangling tricky situations to make everything clearer and we think you will find us straightforward to work with.

One of the most complicated yet day to day areas of employment law has got to be holiday pay and this is particularly the case when an employee has irregular working hours. In conjunction with Ergo Law, we will be holding a workshop on holiday pay for casual and atypical workers.

In our workshop we’ll be covering:

  • The importance of employment contracts for all workers

  • An overview of holiday pay and recent changes

  • Difficulties that may arise for workers with irregular hours

  • Practical advice and FAQs in relation to holiday pay for atypical workers

It will be held on Tuesday 17th May at 11am via Zoom.

We will be encouraging discussion throughout this session but as the approach to holiday pay can vary depending on the worker’s particular arrangements, we invite you to email hello@accountabilityedinburgh.co.uk with your questions in advance so that we can provide as much useful information as possible. We hope to see you there!
